| Tickets are now on sale for this memorable evening that has been designed to give participants an opportunity to be involved in an event, similar to a debutante ball, that most have never been able to be involved in previously.
The tickets are priced at $65 per person and include a three course meal, non alcoholic beverages and live entertainment. This is a BYO event.
Since April 2012, 36 participants (26 females and 10 males) have attended weekly dance lessons and all are eagerly waiting to showcase their moves on their very special night in August.
The event has been greatly supported by a $10,000 grant from the TAC, which has helped keep the costs down to a minimum for all the participants involved. Kingston Council and the City of Greater Dandenong have also contributed $10,000 each to the event via the Metro Access program which is funded by the Victorian Department of Human Services.
In addition to the support provided by the organisations directly involved in the planning, a number of other organisations are volunteering their time and services or are offering their services at a reduced fee to make this wonderful event a never to be forgotten experience for all involved.
The participants will be presented to the Mayors of Kingston and Greater Dandenong councils on the night of The Ball in front of their families and carers.
