| Final Preparations Underway for the 2009 JBWere Masters at Kingston Heath Golf Club | | The final countdown has begun for the 2009 JBWere Masters to be held at the Kingston Heath Golf Club between November 10 and 15 and after months of preparation and liaison with the tournament organisers IMG Australia, VicRoads and the Golf Club, Kingston Council has released traffic arrangements prepared for the thousands of visitors expected to attend this high profile event.
Following are the changed traffic conditions that will apply for the duration of the Tournament: | |
 | Kingston Road between Warrigal and Old Dandenong Roads will be closed to traffic between 5am and 9pm on the four main days of the Tournament. |  | All residents living on Kingston Road, or within streets where access is required via Kingston Road, will receive temporary passes to gain access to their residence. |  | Temporary Permit Only parking signs will be installed throughout The Heath Estate and all residents will receive temporary parking permits to allow parking in the street by residents. |  | Access to The Heath Estate from Kingston Road will be closed and all entry and exits will be via Warrigal Road or roads south of Kingston Road. |  | No Stopping signs will be erected on both sides or one side of the following streets: Byng Ave, Yvonne Crt, Maureen Crt, Cavendish Dr, Ball Rd, Genine Av, Enid Crt, Golf View Rd, Nicholas Grv, Henry St, Pietro Rd, Pine Lane, Madden Rd, Hermitage St, Beatrice St, Emville Ct, Paljan Ct, Barclay Dr, Baryn St, Lincoln Dr, Medway Ave, Kristine Ct, Sharrock Av, Craig Ct, Cronin Crt, Jells Rd, Joyce St, Kardinian Ave, Jodi St, Harkaway Dr, Olinda Crt, Seville Ct, Blackburn Dr, Kallista Crt, Monbulk Crt, Benkel Ave, Renowden St, Lendor Crt, Helen Crt and the service lanes along Centre Dandenong Road. |  | Public parking will be made available in the following areas: |  | North – Land on the corner of Warrigal and Kingston Roads. |  | West – at the Kingston Centre on the grassed area along Warrigal Road; and |  | South – parts of Kingston Heath Reserve off Farm Road. |  | Access to the following streets will be blocked from Farm Road to prevent vehicles attempting to shortcut thru to Centre Dandenong Road: Brampton Street, Eunice Drive, Lincoln Drive, Jells Road and Harkaway Drive. |  | During the Tournament, no right hand turn onto Centre Dandenong Road is permitted from any connecting street leading from Farm Road. |  | Increased traffic flow is anticipated during peak exit times - approximately between 4 and 6.30pm each day - particularly on Farm Road, Kardinian Avenue and Pietro Road. |  | Car pooling is being encouraged and promoted. Free parking will be offered to those who have 4 people to a car. |  | Access to Kingston Heath Golf Club via Public Transport will be made possible with shuttles operating from Moorabbin Station and Huntingdale Station. With a large number of buses engaged to transport attendees, Pine Lane will be used as a holding area for public transport |  | Kingston Council Local Laws Officers and Parking Enforcement Officers will be operating in the area to enforce parking restrictions and police will be operating in the area to assist with congestion. |

| Kingston City Council will be sending letters to over 2000 households located in the area surrounding the Kingston Heath Golf Club over the coming week and to further assist residents living and/or working in the areas affected by the forthcoming event, Kingston Council will host a public information session on Wednesday November 4 between 6 and 7.30pm. The information session will be held in the Moorabbin Room of the Council offices at 1230 Nepean Highway in Cheltenham.
