Want to make a difference to the environment and live a littler greener?

During 2012 a series of free community workshops to help you live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle are available.

The workshops have been chosen to offer you a range of skills that will give you the confidence to start a project and empower you to make changes so that  you live a more sustainable life. 

 Workshops will be kept to a maximum of 30 people and you can choose to attend just one of the workshops or as many as you like. To make a booking contact 9581 4713 or email ourplace@kingston.vic.gov.au

 


  5th May             Shrink your wasteline                                                     10.00-12.00

 Council’s Waste Education team will teach you how to shop smarter and reduce the amount of waste you produce as well as taking you through how to establish and maintain a composting system or worm farm.



19th May            Fresh Green Cleaning                                                      10.00-12.00

L
earn how to clean your home safely and sustainably. Bridget Gardner will share her professional cleaning experience through interactive demonstrations, stories and presentations that can be applied to any situation. Live simply. Be healthy. Save money. (includes creating your own creamy cleanser)



13th June            Create a wildlife friendly backyard                                   6.30-8.30

 Learn how to design your garden and what plants to grow to attract some of Kingston’s beautiful insects, butterflies, birds and other wildlife into your backyard by coming along to this workshop hosted by the team from La Trobe University.

Thin Green Line Documentary Screening
Wednesday June 6

FREE but ticketed event at Kingston Arts Centre, Cnr South Road and Nepean Highway, Moorabbin. 

Doors open at 5.30 and proceedings will start at 6.00 – 8.30

Nibbles will be provided and rinks at bar prices

There will be the opportunity to purchase merchandise from the Thin Green Line foundation.

The Thin Green Line documentary made by Sean Wilmore highlights the risks rangers take every day in protecting our natural environment. Many of them die in the line of duty. Since making this documentary Sean has created the Thin Green Line Foundation to provide finanical support for those families of those killed in the front line.
