Free annual hard waste collections
Council provides a free hard waste collection for Kingston residents between September and October each year.
The annual 2017 hard waste collection will be completed over a five week period and will begin in Council's northern suburbs on Monday 25 September and conclude in the southern suburbs on Friday 27 October. To check your area dates please click here (583KB). Residents are reminded to donate useful items to their local op shop or charity store.
Hard waste must be stacked by 6am on the date collection is made and late items will not be collected. Please keep your street tidy by putting items out as close to your collection dates as possible.

Book a hard waste collection
Each financial year, every household in Kingston can book a collection of hard waste for only $55 (in addition to the free annual waste collection between September/October). In comparison, disposing of one cubic metre of hard waste at most waste transfer stations costs approximately $70-$150.
Please check the size of your pile to make sure it's not bigger than 2 cubic metres (that's 1m x 2m x 1m), as Council contractors will not collect more than 2 cubic metres per booking.
Items accepted for collection are the same as the annual hard waste collection service. Materials can be collected from inside the property owner’s fence line or from the nature strip.
How to book:
Simply click here and follow the prompts to organise a collection. There is a $55 charge per collection, and you book as many collections as you like. You will need a valid email address and a contact phone number to complete your booking. Payment is by Visa or Mastercard only.

Your rubbish is your responsibility
Any residents placing items on the nature strip without prior Council approval may be treated as having littered and an infringement notice could be issued. Hard waste for the annual collection may only be placed on the nature strip for collection and not within private property, in parklands or on vacant blocks.
Any items placed on the nature strip that are not permitted will be the responsibility of the resident to remove. Fines of up to $244 may be issued for not removing this waste.
