Kingston Council is calling for nominations for representatives of faith communities on the Kingston Interfaith Advisory Committee.
| | | |
| The Committee provides a connection between Council and faith communities to encourage open communication, interfaith dialogue and interfaith activities.
It celebrates the commonality and diversity of our spiritual communities by encouraging respect and understanding between peoples of all faiths, affirming religious freedom, and working towards peace and equality within our local community.
New members need to be endorsed by their faith group and will be appointed for a two year term from 2012 - 2014.
The Committee meets monthly and works together on a range of projects that involve the Kingston Interfaith Network and the broader community.
A great opportunity to learn more about the Committee is by attending the Kingston Interfaith Advisory Committee’s first breakfast for 2012. It will be held from 7am to 8.30am on Wednesday 29 February 2012. The venue and speakers will be announced soon.
Nominations for the Kingston Interfaith Advisory Committee close at 5pm on Friday 16 March 2012.
