Mentone Racecourse Reserve - Playground and Park improvements  Printer Friendly

As part of Council's commitment to improving playgrounds and public open space, an exciting plan has been developed to construct a new play space at Mentone Racecourse Reserve on Glenelg Drive in Mentone.

Key elements of the project include:
The construction of a new three-space playground featuring activities for all age groups including Kingston’s first cable flying fox
The reconstruction of the rebound wall
The construction of new picnic and barbecue areas
The construction of accessible lake viewing platforms and boardwalks
The refurbishment of the existing bridge
 Path improvements throughout the park
The installation of new park furniture
 Park tree planting.

Racecourse Reseerve Concept
The playspace design reflects elements of the park’s racecourse history.

We value your feedback. Please feel free to comment on this proposal before Monday, 30 January, 2012.
Following public consultation, it is anticipated that construction would start in March, 2012.
Please find attached a copy of the landscape concept plans and a resident bulletin.
