Sustainable Homes Program
The Sustainable Homes Program is a 5 week course with topics covering energy, water, waste and gardening. Each participant receives a resource kit developed in conjunction with CSIRO that includes over 50 fact sheets providing practical guidance on a huge range of actions to improve the comfort and efficiency of any home.   Actions range from the very cheap and simple to complex renovations and home design and include things that can be done in rental properties, large houses or small units.

If you want more information or would like the program to be run in your area or for a group you’re involved with please ring Robyn on 9772 1664.

Victorian Local Sustainability Accord

The Victorian Local Sustainability Accord, launched on 7th November 2005 is a landmark partnership agreement between the Victorian State Government and local governments on environmental sustainability. The Accord aims to strengthen cooperative efforts between state and local governments in the delivery of environmental sustainability programs. It provides a mechanism for resolving issues of responsibility between State Government and local governments, and for improving communication between and within both levels of government.

The City of Kingston committed to the principles and actions within the Accord in late 2006 and prepared and adopted the Kingston Local Environmental Sustainability Priority Statement in October 2008.
