1,000s of old black and white photo negatives were locked away for decades in a small room at Leader Newspapers in Cheltenham, the work of many unnamed newspaper photographers working at The Standard News from the 60s to 80s.
A chance conversation between the Managing Director of Leader and our Historian, Dr Graham Whitehead, revealed the treasure trove of photos.
The negatives have now been transferred Dr Whitehead's custody, who - with the help of Council's Carmel Hogan, Martin Dickerson and volunteers - has created a database of over 10,000 images.
