City of Kingston hosts Chelsea ‘Skate of Mind’ event

In recognition of National Youth Week 2012, Kingston Youth Services and Fuse Productions are hosting the annual Skate of Mind event on Saturday 14 April from 9am-4pm at Bicentennial Park, Chelsea.

“Skate of Mind will be an exciting day of scooter, skate, BMX and inline blade competitions for young people. There will be fantastic prizes awarded to winners of the different competitions,” Kingston Mayor Cr John Ronke said.

Fuse Productions, Kingston Youth Service’s FReeZA committee have organised to showcase the talents of young local bands While the City Sleeps, The Miracle is Now, and Masketta Fall who will perform on the FReeZA stage throughout the day.

Other activities include Henna Temporary Tattoos, Sumo Suit wrestling, Street Art activity, a photo booth, a cartoonist and the opportunity to design your own cardboard skate deck.

There will also be interactive information stalls and a delicious barbecue.

All participants will need to register for the competitions and anyone aged under 18 will need a signed parental consent form which is available on Kingston Youth Services website www.kyfs.org.au
